Ce livre est très beau et très intéressant, il est arrivé malheureusement abîmé à un coin, c'est dommage pour un livre neuf

I have an extensive library of fashion and sewing books, and this book is one of my favorites. Vintage Details is a picture book that illustrates in a very informative way the quality, ingenuity, and style that can be incorporated into a garmet when those things matter to the dressmaker. Another reviewer mentioned the fast-fashion trend that we live by today, fueled by very affordable clothing from Asia, that is easily disposable after a few wears. The clothing in this book was meant to last for years and years, with classic styliing and details that never go out of fashion.I own a lot of books that showcase various, well-known designers such as Chanel, Dior, Vionnet, etc. I did not recognize any of the designers whose work is published in this book, yet the clothing and its details are second to none. Very enjoyable book, and I will be incorporating some of these "Vintage Details" into my own home reations.

With all the glowing reviews I was seriously second guessing myself as to why this book was not in my top 10... or 20 for that matter. I have probably 75 or more books on design, fashion, details and the like. I found the garments quite ordinary. The examples were of simple pleats on a basic skirt a bow inserted by the neckline, some vintage buttons, simple inserted ruching, a silk ribbon flower and the like. I could go on.Im happy many found this enlightening as the cost is a bit high, I personally was disappointed. I very much dislike giving a negative review, however these are details I have seen over and over and over again. There was no text or instruction. On the positive side the book itself is nicely done with quality paper and an attractive cover

Gorgeous, lots of crisp detail of what you really want to see in a classic garment. All the interesting detail magnified for you so you really get an idea of the construction of things. Inspirational, i bought it to use as an idea book to give me a good look at styles from previous decades and it is serving well.

The book I received was brand new with plastic and felt like i was the first person to flip through the pages.Pages and pages of photos, some with multiple pieces of clothing in one page and others have a closeup of the detail like stitching, pockets and collars. Looks like I'm going to be increasing my clothing terminologies soon! Worth every dollar! Vendor packaged book with much care! Would buy books there again.

As a home sewer with an interest in design, this book is an invaluable aid. Pictures are clear and the choices of garments are excellent. My only complaint is that there weren't more items included! I can't wait to start incorporating some of these details into my own clothing!
